Fast Track to Doggie Recovery

So, Harley has been back to the vet three times this week after the initial visit on Monday--once on Wednesday for a stitch she pulled out (which thankfully didn't need to be replaced), once yesterday for another pulled stitch (which was replaced with a staple and she is now wearing an old t-shirt to keep her from scratching out any more), and again tonight as she has been vomiting and listless most of the day today. After bloodwork (to rule out pancreatitis and other organ disorders) and xrays (to rule out a possible foreign body obstruction), all is good. She is on an antiemetic medication now, along with some bland food that she will start on tomorrow. I hope this is the end of her troubles. She sure has managed to put a sizeable dent in the old pocketbook. I'm thinking about making her get a job! I love my dogs, but WOW.

Chemo went alright on Tuesday. Same old same old. Just two treatments left now! I can't wait until all of this is behind me and I can get back to regular life. I had an...awakening of sorts yesterday--I'm not going to talk about it just yet as I am still sort of trying to figure things out. As soon as I do, I will lay it all out for you.

I posted a pic of lovely Harley in her ratty old t-shirt. It's just on to keep her from scratching at her sutures and pulling any more out. She looks so silly!

  1. Poor pup....I think the pictures say how she feels about the shirt, hope she feels better.

Glad to hear Chemo went alright....two more to go...there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

  2. Oh Harley and her shenanigans! I hope that you wont have to visit the doggy doctor for a long while! That is totally ridiculous and a lot of money I may add! I am glad that things are going well now and that everything is in the clear!
I am so excited to hear about your awakening!! :) I'm really looking forward to it! :) I hope that things are going better for you!! Big hug for ya! Take much care and say Hi to Ted for me! Love you!!
